Rachel R. Jackson, LPC founded Project Compassion, NFP (PC-NFP) at just 25 years old. Since 2005, PC-NFP has assisted over 80,000 homeless, disadvantaged and low-income men, women, and children with food, shelter, seasonal supplies, hygiene items, life-skills workshops, and vocational training.

Rachel received local and national awards for her work, including the BASIC Citizen of Character award. She is a 2014 L’Oreal Paris Woman of Worth and received the Barack Obama Silver Presidential Award for her Community Service. She is also the recipient of the Daily Point of Light Award. Additionally, she is the recipient of the Lindenwood University Outstanding Alum Award.

Rachel is the recipient of Top Ladies of Distinction “Extraordinary Women” award. She is also the recipient of the Delta Economic Development Corp Award “Heroes Among Us.”

Rachel is the recipient of the TOCO “Making a Difference” award.

Rachel opened the Compassionate Resource Center in Belleville, IL (2011). She also led the charge in PC-NFP receiving a Proclamation from the Mayor of Belleville, IL declares October 29th “Compassion Day” in the city of Belleville (2014).

Rachel has received local and national attention for her work, including being featured on the Tyra Banks Show receiving the Secret Deodorant Strong Enough for a Woman Award. She was awarded the Powerful Difference Award by ABC Radio & Pine-Sol and has been featured in the June 2008 and December 2014 issues of Ebony Magazine. She has been featured in numerous magazines and articles, including MORE Magazine, Oprah (O) Magazine, Glamour Magazine, Gazelle Magazine, and Southern Living. She was also featured in Black Professional Women (2011 & 2016) and was honored as a Racial Harmony Phenomenal Woman. Additionally, Rachel and Project Compassion were honored by United Way at the 2013 Volunteer Honors Banquet.

Rachel has launched the first Self-Esteem & Self-Worth program called Empower-Me in St. Clair County, IL is working with school districts to inspire youth and girls by building beauty from the inside first, character building, and continuing education. Rachel is the host of the Girlz On Purpose Tour.
